Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, journeyed into Mictlan, the realm of the dead, to retrieve the bones that would breathe life into all of humanity once more.

Persephone, seized by Hades and bound in marriage, marks her passage through the underworld with an annual return to the earth, where her presence stirs the soil and calls forth the blooms of spring.

Inanna, too, descends into the shadowed depths, her form stripped away, layer by layer, until she lies lifeless. Yet from the cold grasp of death, a pact is struck, and her spirit is returned, reborn, from the underworld's embrace.

The Underworld is not the end but an essential passage in our journey toward greater self-awareness and fulfillment.
